This website is searchable for those in a hurry ... and who know what they are looking for. However please wait for the search to be done and the results to come up.
Bear in mind that there might be variations in spellings.
Look at Search tips on the results page. Sometimes you get unwanted results - for example searching on Peters will also show all mentions of Peter. To prevent that, on the results page click on Advanced Search, turn off the Stemming facility ('none') and try again.
Just browsing the pages of the website can still be an entertaining way to come across the unexpected - and long forgotten!
Some pages are long.
To find something more quickly within a long page, with your cursor on the page, click your CTRL and F keys together. (Windows 7 and Mac users may need to do something different).
In Internet Explorer the Find box, or something like it, should come up.
Enter the word e.g. surname (or first part of it) you want to search for in the Find box.
Leave the boxes unticked (it simplifies searching.)
Clicking Next/Previous finds other mentions of the same word.
In Firefox the equivalent looks like this, at the bottom of the screen - In Chrome the equivalent looks like this, near the top of the screen -
N.B. only the search box in the top panel is 'live', the others are for illustration.
